SEMI-AUTOMATED PACKING AND AGGREGATION SOLUTION
VVTechnologiesINC’s PackStation (SAP) is a semi-automated packing and aggregation solution designed to accurately identify, inspect, verify, and aggregate serialized products that are manually packed into secondary packaging.
The system enables efficient aggregation of serialized items such as cartons, bottles, and bundles into a serialized parent container, supporting structured traceability and GS1-based serialization requirements.
PackStation (SAP) combines automated product inspection, parent-label printing, label verification, and aggregation within a streamlined workstation, helping operators perform manual packing activities with greater speed and accuracy.
KEY FEATURES
- Serialization and aggregation of cartons, bottles, and bundles into cases
- Automated inspection of serialized child products
- Automated parent-label printing and application
- Parent-label verification before aggregation
- Audit-trail and batch-event logging
- Real-time serialization data processing
- GS1-compatible serialization formats
- Simple and intuitive operator interface
- Visual status indicators for inspection results
- Defect identification and process-control functionality
- Integration with packaging and serialization systems
KEY BENEFITS
- Supports serialization and traceability requirements
- Improves manual packing efficiency

- Helps prevent defective products from progressing to subsequent operations
HOW IT WORKS
1. CHILD PRODUCT INSPECTION
Serialized items are presented to the inspection station, where their identification codes are scanned and verified. The system confirms that the products are valid and suitable for inclusion in the parent package.
2. MANUAL PACKING
After successful verification, the operator places the approved products into the designated case or parent container.
3. PARENT LABEL PRINTING AND APPLICATION
Once the required products have been successfully verified, the integrated Print-and-Apply system generates and applies the serialized label to the parent container.
4. PARENT LABEL VERIFICATION
The newly applied parent label is automatically inspected to verify its serialized information and ensure that the label corresponds to the intended packaging operation.
5. AGGREGATION
Following successful child and parent verification, the system establishes the parent-child relationship between the serialized products and the parent case, completing the aggregation process.
6. VISUAL OPERATOR GUIDANCE
Visual status indicators provide immediate feedback at the inspection stations. Operators can quickly identify successful inspections and detected defects, helping prevent incorrect or rejected products from moving to the next production stage.
7. DATA MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING
The system records relevant serialization, inspection, aggregation, batch, and audit events. This information can be used for production monitoring, traceability, reconciliation, and compliance reporting.
EFFICIENT SEMI-AUTOMATED PACKAGING
PackStation (SAP) combines manual product handling with automated inspection, labeling, and aggregation, providing pharmaceutical and medical-device manufacturers with greater control over packaging operations.
The solution helps improve packing speed, serialization accuracy, aggregation reliability, traceability, and overall operational efficiency while maintaining a simple workflow for production operators.
